NHS FDP
The NHS Federated Data Platform connects vital health information across the NHS, helping staff deliver better care for patients and work more efficiently. Our brief was two fold. Develop a narrative that clearly explains the importance of the NHS FDP and its role in the UK health system. Secondly, we needed to create a visual identity to align with this narrative. No more information silos – a fully connected NHS.


The Problem
Every hospital and trust in the UK collects its own data. Much of this information could help others too, but it often stays locked away in separate systems. The NHS FDP brings this data together, making it easier for NHS staff to find and share important information, so they can provide better care for patients. The challenge is how to explain this in a way everyone can grasp, while creating an identity that feels technical and forward-thinking, yet clear and accessible to all.

The Process
First step, get the message right. This is the foundation on which we build the brand and supporting assets. Initial stages included in-depth understanding workshops. We then worked closely with their team to ensure clarity of message and a truly impactful brand.

Messaging
From defining the purpose, vision, and mission, to shaping the NHS FDP tone of voice, introductory narrative, and messaging framework.

Brand identity
Working within NHS guidelines, we developed a brand that visually shows how the platform securely connects information across the NHS. It was designed to feel technical but also welcoming to all.



Engaging… and alive
It was important the brand felt alive and ever evolving.
At no point should it feel static (even when it was).
Playbook
A thorough documentation of all key brand assets and guidance to their usage. It was also designed to act as inspiration to other teams working with the brand.
Platform assets
The platform design was created by Palantir. We supported them with assets, including bespoke visuals for each ‘solution’.



Infographics and data
All elements of the brand were explored.

Rollout
Extensive rollout examples and artworks were created. The wide range of brand assets ensures every piece of design stays on-brand while feeling fresh, distinctive, and memorable.





Video templates
A range of video templates were created to introduce speakers, webinars and casestudies.
Templates
We created a range of materials designed to be genuinely helpful for our clients, including poster templates, social media templates, and more.
